Beginning Beekeeping, starting January 27th at 7 pm
If you are interested in getting some honeybees of your own this will get you started in time for spring. Join us for a series of three classes on the very basics of beekeeping. Becoming a beekeeper starts with study, progresses to setting up your hives boxes and then getting bees. However the learning never ends and you will find beekeepers who have been doing this 60 years and are still surprised and inspired by the bees.
Topics we will discuss include:
basic honeybee biology
equipment needed and where to get it
types of hives
setting up your spot
how and when to get the bees
what to look for in the hive
good books to read
When: Three Friday evenings 7 – 8:30pm, January 27th, February 3rd and 10th
Where: The Sanctuary Acupuncture 5111 Central Ave. St. Petersburg 33711 #422-6945
